Head of Sales - Transportation Infrastructure

Our client, a leading firm in the automation sector, is seeking a talented and driven Head of Sales - Transportation Infrastructure to join their permanent team. This role is integral to supporting and expanding their business within the Transportation Infrastructure sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and develop the business within the Transportation Infrastructure sector.
  • Drive business development, account leadership and solution delivery across the sector.
  • Develop in-depth solutions for long-term customer success using past and current project references.
  • Promote the company in Light Rail, Trams, SFRI, and Highways infrastructure, and other subsectors.
  • Leverage your perspectives, personality, and creativity to develop innovative solutions.
  • Investigate and develop partnerships to maximise business opportunities.
  • Build and leverage client and team relationships that drive results and growth.
  • Showcase yourself as a thought leader in Transport Infrastructure through professional network development, speaking, and writing engagements.
  • Nurture your interests with our training programme applicable to development activities and growth projects.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date CRM and sales forecasts.
  • Review commercial, technical, and operational bids.
  • Assist the Sales Applications team with proposals and specifications in technical, commercial, and contractual aspects.
  • Agree and manage the "Go To Market" strategy with the Senior Management Team, delivering high-quality proposals, documents, presentations, case studies, and value propositions.
  • Develop a system for evaluating, selecting, and prioritising business opportunities.
  • Maintain the reputation of the company as a leading-edge systems integrator and solutions provider.
  • Stay informed on issues affecting system integrator companies and the drives, digital and automation industry within the sector.
  • Maintain awareness of competitor activities.
  • Represent the company at industry events and tradeshows to gain new business leads and contacts.
  • Comply with all company procedures as defined in the Quality Manual, Staff Manual, and Health & Safety Manual.
  • Support other company activities, divisions, and sectors proactively.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with customers, suppliers, and company staff.
  • Expect frequent travel and overnight stays, with occasional overseas travel.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in business development and sales within the Transport Infrastructure sector.
  • Strong understanding of the automation and digital industry practices.
  • Proven track record in developing business opportunities and client relationships.
  • Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions for clients.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong management and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and sales forecasting tools.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and stay overnight as required, including occasional overseas travel.
