Warehouse & Transport Manager

Our client is a market leading manufacturer in the sector they operator in and have rapidly grown since their establishment in the 1980s to the point they now have over 350 employees and a turnover of £100m+. Due to continued success they are looking to expand their friendly Warehouse team.

On offer is a technical role where you will be responsible for all warehouse and transport operations on site as you liaise closely with the Production Director. Your responsibilities will include organising rotas for drivers and warehouse staff, ensuring all deliveries go out correctly and on time in addition to ensure department SLAs are met.

This role would suit a Transport or Warehouse Manager looking for an autonomous role within a dynamic work environment where you will oversee all on site activities and make a direct impact on the ongoing success of the business.

Responsibilities:-

  1. To gain a full knowledge of the range of services provided in the Warehouse, Transport and Pick & Pack Department.
  2. To be able to understand the company's Management Information Systems in regards to stock management and bay location, goods in & out, catalogue creation, delivery notes, transport requests, pick & pack, goods returned and the management of overs.
  3. To manage the Warehouse,Transort & Pick & Pack staff and the daily collections and deliveries to the Tottenham site.
  4. To be fully conversant with and to monitor all aspects of the department Health and Safety and the safety and maintenance of the department's vehicles, including the record keeping of all repairs and servicing.
  5. To develop and deliver a continuous training programme for the development of department staff.
  6. To foster a close working relationship with the other departments within Production to ensure a harmonious and productive working atmosphere.
  7. To investigate and recommend and install new and innovative technical solutions including AIDC, RFID, barcoding and handheld devices to make ensure the efficient and productive use of the available space and manpower.
  8. To ensure that all of the correct procedures are followed for ISO quality checking and the appropriate paperwork is completed.
  9. To help ensure that all of the departments SLA's are met.
  10. To perform the required daily machine and vehicle safety checks.
  11. To raise and log all engineer calls.
  12. To help to achieve team and individual targets as set by the Production Department Management.
  13. To complete time sheets and quality control documentation as required by the senior management team.
  14. Undertake support tasks as required by the senior management team.
  15. Complete projects as and when requested by the Production Director.
