: £17,310.93 - £24,522.83 (pro-rata), based on £24,961 - £35,360 full-time equivalent.

Contract

: Part-time, 30 hours per week, term time only (working 39 weeks per year).

Role Overview

:

As a Construction Tutor, you will teach a range of construction-related subjects, including Tiling, Block Paving, Rainwater Goods, Skirting Boards, and Health & Safety, to learners aged 16 to 19 (up to 24 with an EHCP). Your role is to develop learners' practical skills and knowledge, ensuring they gain the necessary qualifications to progress toward training and employment opportunities.

You will be supported by the Curriculum and Learning Lead, who focuses on maintaining quality and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

:

  • Deliver engaging lessons in Construction subjects at Entry Level 3 to Level 1.
  • Develop comprehensive schemes of work and lesson plans tailored to student needs.
  • Provide individualised support to learners when necessary.
  • Encourage and motivate students to achieve their goals, focusing on both academic and vocational success.
  • Help prepare learners for apprenticeships, further education, or employment.

Qualifications and Experience

:

  • A professional qualification relevant to the construction field (Level 2 or above).
  • A teaching qualification (Level 3 or above).
  • Practical experience in construction disciplines such as Tiling, Block Paving, Rainwater Goods, Skirting Boards, and Health & Safety.
  • Experience working with disengaged or hard-to-reach young people, particularly those aged 14 to 19, or learners with additional needs (EAL, SEN, etc.).
  • The ability to set high expectations for behaviour and achievement while fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
