This role is with our client, a retail banking giant, committed to driving innovation, compliance, and operational resilience within the financial sector. You'll join a supportive and collaborative team, focusing on building cutting-edge, scalable solutions within the banking domain.
Our client is looking for a skilled Solution Architect with expertise in financial services and a strong background in Azure cloud and data mining, preferably within a high-street bank environment. The ideal candidate will independently design, evaluate, and lead the implementation of strategic solutions aligned with the client's architectural framework, with minimal direct oversight.
Responsibilities:
- Architectural Design: Lead solution design, collaborating with Enterprise Architects to align with the client's Payments, Fraud, and Financial Crime estate.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with both Business and Technology teams, as well as third-party vendors, to ensure well-evaluated design options and robust recommendations.
- Design Governance: Oversee project delivery against agreed designs, assess impact of change requests, and maintain governance standards.
- Workshops and Forums: Facilitate workshops with developers, operations, and business stakeholders.
- Technical Leadership: Provide solution design estimates for business cases, review peer designs, and participate in internal improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Extensive solution architecture/design experience in high-street banking or finance environments.
- Technical Expertise: Proficient with Azure cloud and Calypso banking software.
- Data Mining and Cloud: Strong background in data and cloud architectures (AWS and Azure preferred).
- Ability to work independently with a self-managed approach to responsibilities.
- IT architecture with a data-oriented background.
- Familiarity with Payments, Fraud, and Financial Crime; and treasury or core banking systems
