About the Role
As a Business Development Manager for Building Optimisation, you'll play a pivotal role in driving growth by identifying and securing high-value opportunities across target sectors. You'll lead proactive outreach, foster strong relationships, and manage a structured sales pipeline, aligning client needs with our innovative sustainability and optimisation solutions.
Working cross-functionally, you'll help position Optimised as the partner of choice for sustainable, data-driven building performance. Your impact will shape the strategic and financial success of the business, delivering meaningful results for our clients and environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and convert new business opportunities using strategic, insight-led approaches.
- Build trusted relationships with clients, including operational and C-suite stakeholders.
- Lead the full sales cycle from initial contact to contract, using a consultative approach.
- Tailor Optimised's solutions to meet client goals and create clear, measurable value.
- Develop high-impact proposals, collaborating across teams to maximise success.
- Drive growth via cross-selling and upselling across Optimised's service lines.
- Ensure seamless handover to operations and monitor early-stage service delivery.
- Feed operational insight back into future business development strategies.
- Stay up to date on market trends, tech, and regulatory shifts in sustainability and energy.
- Champion digital tools (e.g., Client Portal) to enhance engagement and retention.
- Collaborate with internal teams on strategy, campaigns, and service improvement.
- Represent Optimised at events to build profile and unlock new routes to market.
What You'll Bring
- Proven success in a "hunter" sales role, ideally within BEMS, energy, or optimisation.
- Confident in structured sales techniques and CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce).
- Strong commercial acumen and experience with solution-based sales methodologies.
- Excellent communicator with relationship management and negotiation strengths.
- Strategic mindset, resilience, and motivation to exceed targets in a fast-paced setting.
- Passion for sustainability and collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
- Eligible to work in the UK with a full driving licence.
