Overview:

They possess a team who are designing and implementing state-of-the-art traffic management systems that enhance the daily lives of commuters and contribute to the sustainable growth of communities. They now have an opportunity for a Traffic Signal Engineer to join the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of traffic signal plans.
  • Creation of signalling scheme designs tailored to each specific site.
  • Work in conjunction with traffic signal deployment teams to ensure that schemes are laid out correctly and with maximum efficiency.
  • Ensure delivered schemes are safe and meet with the highest possible standards.
  • Act as escalation point of contact where issues can be raised that require either more detailed product knowledge or a level of further investigation.
  • Utilise internal design software to model and evaluate scheme performance.
  • Contribute to and maintain the internal signal design guidance documentation with the team, ensuring that all aspects of the criteria used to measure safety of schemes are codified and documented.

Person Specification:

  • Demonstrable experience in traffic signal engineering perhaps allied to an engineering qualification.
  • Knowledge of traffic signal design methods and UK standards.
  • Experience with UTC and CLF plans.
  • Experience of performing factory and site acceptance tests.
  • Experience of formally reviewing signalling designs.
  • Experience of using modelling tools to design schemes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
