If you answered yes to any of these questions, we want to hear from you! My client is an independent Acoustic consultancy looking for a Junior Acoustic Consultant to work remotely, based in Reading. The company pride themselves on their talented team who are well versed in noise and vibration impact assessments, covering a number of sectors including construction, commercial, and industrial. They also supply a wide range of Acoustic materials for clients who are looking for soundproofing solutions.

The Role:

The successful Junior Acoustic Consultant candidate will have the chance to work on a variety of projects nationwide, varying in size. The role will largely focus on environmental Acoustics at the planning stages of construction in the Residential sector. The successful Junior Acoustic Consultant candidate will have the opportunity to develop at a well-established and forward-thinking organisation. Site visits will be required, however, the written aspect of the role may be completed remotely.

Role responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking various noise impact assessments for the planning stages of construction.
  • Collating the data to write factual reports for clients, with reference to BS4142 and BS5228 Bristish Standards.
  • Undertaking sound insulation testing.
  • Completing sound and noise surveys.
  • Junior Acoustic Consultants may provide Graduate Consultants with guidance.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Six months of experience as an Acoustic Consultant, is required.
  • A membership to the Institute of Acoustics.
  • Experience using Acoustic modelling software (e.g., AutoCAD, Cadna).
  • A relevant degree in Acoustics or Physics. An engineering degree with relevant modules will also be considered.
  • Awareness of British Standards, BS4142 and BS5228.
