Job Overview:

As a Management Accountant, you will be integral to our financial operations, focusing on in-depth analysis of financial performance, budget preparation, and strategic financial planning tailored to our retail environment. Your collaborative spirit will enable you to work closely with various departments, ensuring alignment with our financial objectives and contributing to the overall success of our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including comprehensive income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports tailored to our retail operations.
  • Performance Analysis: Analyse financial performance and variances, delivering actionable insights and recommendations to management and department heads to drive improvements.
  • Budget Development: Lead the development and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic retail initiatives.
  • Profitability Assessment: Conduct detailed profitability analyses for product lines and store locations, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with merchandising, supply chain, and sales teams to ensure financial strategies are aligned with operational goals.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory, ensuring accurate reporting and valuation, while optimising stock levels.
  • Financial Reporting Support: Contribute to the preparation of financial reports for senior management and key stakeholders, presenting insights in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Annual Budgeting: Participate in the annual budgeting process and regular financial reviews, ensuring that all financial plans are realistic and achievable.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CMA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Management Accountant.
  • Strong understanding of retail financial metrics, KPIs, and industry best practices.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
