Location: Large SEN School, Exeter
Contract Type: Long-term Supply
Duration: End of September 2024 - June 2025
Working Days: 3 to 4 days per week
Working Hours: 8.30am - 4.00pm
Pay Rate: In line with MPS

About the Role:

Timeplan Education is seeking a qualified and experienced SEN Teacher to join our dedicated team in a long-term supply capacity. This rewarding role will be based in a large SEN school in Exeter, catering to secondary pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. The students, who learn at a primary level, require a compassionate and adaptable teacher to support their educational journey.

As an SEN Teacher, you will provide cover across a range of subjects, including English, Maths, Science, and Humanities, wherever there is a planned absence or PPA cover needed. Your ability to engage and inspire students with diverse learning needs will be key to their academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching across a range of subjects (English, Maths, Science, Humanities) to secondary pupils learning at a primary level.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students with MLD, ASD, and SEMH.
  • Provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and specialists to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide feedback to parents and caregivers.
  • Participate in school meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly MLD, ASD, and SEMH.
  • Strong knowledge of primary-level curriculum and ability to teach across various subjects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
