Our client is recruiting an Advice and Volunteer Manager to join their team to lead on managing the operations of their charity. You will work alongside the Charity Manager, a small advice team and a growing team of volunteers to deliver an effective and valued advice service in North Manchester.

Location: North Manchester
Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week worked over 5 days)
Contract: Permanent, subject to funding
Salary: £34,834 to £36,648 per year (dependent on experience)
Holidays: 30 days per year + Public Holidays
Pension: NEST pension scheme in place (3% employer contribution)

Established by the community in 1977, the charity is a busy neighbourhood advice centre in Manchester providing face-to-face advice and support to residents.

The charity is a busy advice service working within a diverse community. The organisation wants to recruit somebody with experience of delivering an accessible social welfare advice service as well as experience of managing or supervising advice staff and/or volunteers. Our client has advertised the salary within a range as while they are keen to recruit someone with lots of experience, they would also consider someone for whom this is a development position.

Main purpose of the job:

  • Manage, develop and continuously improve the advice service to meet identified need and to promote the health and wellbeing of Manchester residents.
  • Manage, develop and continuously improve the volunteer service, providing a diverse range of roles to help meet residents' advice and other support needs and to offer positive and meaningful experiences for volunteers.
  • Lead the advice and volunteer teams.
  • Work collaboratively with others in order to enhance relationships and to improve access to other advice and support services for residents.
