The scheme includes both defined benefit and defined contribution components, offering security and flexibility for members. They are now on the hunt for a Cyber Security Engineer to join the team.
As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will ensure the secure implementation and maintenance of all systems. You should have a deep understanding of the Cyber Security threat landscape, SIEM tools, firewalls, and boundary controls. The idea candidate possesses comprehensive knowledge of threat analysis, cyber threat intelligence, and forensic analysis, enabling you to tackle complex security threats with confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Support, maintain, develop, and govern security platforms, including SIEM, NAC, firewalls, 2FA, endpoint, email, and web security.
- Conduct network, endpoint, and log analysis to identify and remediate security incidents.
- Produce vulnerability reports to demonstrate compliance and security posture.
- Track and remediate cyber threats using security tools and open-source intelligence.
- Support vulnerability analysis, penetration testing, and compliance monitoring.
- Remediate system vulnerabilities through planned and emergency patching and updates.
- Integrate security into BAU processes and develop new procedures.
- Create and maintain Cyber Incident Response procedures.
- Mentor engineers and act as a technical escalation point for security events.
- Collaborate with internal teams to maintain security certifications and validation.
- Stay updated on emerging threats and ensure the security of USS infrastructure.
- Assist with IT security audits, providing reports, checks, and evidence.
