Location - Bromley, London

**Salary - £**23,723 - £28,919 per annum pro rata DOE

Hours - Full-time

Temporary until 31 December 2024

Our client is an established college based in Bromley, who is seeking a Student Administrator on a temporary basis. Experience is a key requirement as is a current valid enhanced DBS.

This role runs until the 31st December 2024

Responsibilities for the role of Student Administrator

  • Take responsibility for maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of developments within the College and in the Further Education Sector to enable you to give information, advice and guidance to students, potential students, parents and other customers of the service
  • Along with other members of the Student Hub, have responsibility for meeting student recruitment targets and taking an active role in the student recruitment process, actively promoting and participating in recruitment events
  • Promote the College and its services and present a positive customer-focused image of the College at all times
  • Undertake all aspects of the admissions and enrolment process
  • Administer financial support schemes, including but not limited to bursaries, discretionary support, loans, childcare and Care to Learn, and ensure are run successfully
  • Take payments for fees and services, adhering strictly to the College finance procedures
  • Arrange and supervise initial assessment activities as required
  • Check and update directories and website information produce a range of written and electronic information, and review it regularly, to provide a comprehensive information bank to inform, advise and guide students, potential students and other customers
  • Collect, prepare and provide welfare information relating to housing, benefits and other practical considerations which may be a barrier to learning
  • Liaise with schools, colleges, universities, local service providers, employers and external agencies as required to assist students and prospective students at all stages of the learner journey
  • To keep clear and concise records of communication by updating eTrackr and sharing with the curriculum staff and relevant support teams
  • Be the first point of contact for learners and/or parents/carers and ensure that messages are prioritised, recorded on eNotify and followed up promptly
  • Log enquiries and take responsibility for identifying trends and changing market needs related to our course offer
  • Provide cover to other areas of the Student Hub as required in particular the front desk team
  • Undertake general office duties, which will include but not limited to ordering office stationery, print requests, answering the telephone, taking messages, filing and organising post, etc
  • Provide administrative support for the student disciplinary process, including taking minutes of meetings
  • Provide an ad-hoc room booking service at the local site
  • Support and assist in the coordination of exams including student communications through letters, email and/or text messaging
  • Support and participate in the setting up of new processes and procedures that improve the service and administration provided

Requirements for the role of Student Administrator

  • Must have previous experience in a similar role and setting
  • Will have an existing valid ENHANCED DBS in place (last 3 years), preferably on the update service
  • Will have a minimum of Level 2 literacy & numeracy
  • Ideally, hold an IAG qualification
  • Will have a sound foundation in providing a superb customer service experience
  • Will have good knowledge of higher education environments
  • A current handle on student funding and remission guidance
  • Knowledge of student eligibility regulations & agencies
  • Ideally, have knowledge of student eligibility regulations and experience in implementing these
