Landscaping Supervisor

What are we looking for?

  • An experienced Landscaper to supervise our Northern based team.
  • A hands-on Supervisor who will oversee day-to-day operations while actively working on sites, supporting the team in line with a weekly rota.
  • Someone who can flex between longer hours in Summer and shorter hours in Winter (annualized hours contract).
  • A qualified driver who must be able to meet the Highway Code eyesight test requirements. Candidates must be able to read a vehicle number plate from a distance of 20 metres (65 feet) in good daylight, as stipulated by UK legislation. This is to ensure that all our drivers can perform their duties safely and in compliance with legal standards.

What will we expect in return?

  • Leadership and Supervision: As a Landscaper Supervisor, you will oversee the northern team's operations, ensuring all landscaping and grounds maintenance duties are performed to high standards in line with the weekly schedule. This includes delegating tasks, monitoring performance, and providing guidance and training to team members.
  • Hands-On Work: Actively participate in the hands-on work, including mowing, edging, hedge trimming, and weeding. Ensure the team remains flexible in their working arrangements and site coverage.
  • Problem Solving: Address any on-site issues promptly and efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. This includes managing equipment malfunctions, dealing with unforeseen weather conditions, and responding to client concerns.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections of the sites to ensure work is carried out to the highest standards. Implement improvements where necessary to enhance the quality of service.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and open communication with the team, management, and clients. This includes providing regular updates to the Landscaping Manager on progress, challenges, and any support required.
  • Health and Safety: Enforce health and safety protocols on all sites, ensuring all team members adhere to company policies and legal requirements. Conduct safety briefings and ensure all necessary safety equipment is used appropriately.
  • Administrative Duties: Support with the scheduling and logistics of the team's work, ensure all necessary documentation and completion reports are completed accurately and submitted on time.
  • Client Interaction: Build and maintain positive relationships with residents and / or clients based on site, addressing their needs and ensuring their satisfaction with the services provided.

What do we need from you?

  • Previous proven Landscaping & Grounds Maintenance experience.
  • Previous proven supervisory and/or management experience.
  • Full driving licence with 6 points or less.
  • Experience using a range of garden tools & equipment.
  • Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety.
  • PA1 & PA6 certification (preferred).
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • A great eye for detail, with high personal standards.
  • Flexibility, reliability, and the ability to deliver within the timescales given.
  • A friendly and courteous approach.
  • Punctuality and a desire to succeed.
  • An ability to work autonomously while ensuring your line manager is kept updated on progress.
