Accelerate Teaching is excited to announce an incredible opportunity for an experienced Special Needs Teacher to join a dedicated secondary SEND school in Kirklees, starting in September 2024. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and tailored lessons that meet the diverse needs of students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) to support student learning and progress.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals, to provide holistic support.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment where every student feels valued and supported.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience working as a Special Needs Teacher, ideally within a secondary school setting.
  • A recognised teaching qualification with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
  • In-depth understanding of SEND best practices, strategies, and interventions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with the latest educational research and practices.
