Reed Accountancy & Finance are currently seeking a highly numerate and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our clients Accounts team within a dynamic commercial environment. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role is integral to the planning and programming of the Company's payments to both UK and Overseas suppliers.
**Assistant Accountant
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Commercial Managers to plan and schedule the Company's payments to suppliers.
- Analyse third-party invoices to ensure accurate cost identification and posting to consignments.
- Verify third-party packing costs for correct postings to consignments.
- Prepare monthly prepayments and accruals schedules for journal postings to the nominal ledger.
- Support commercial staff with stock and production record maintenance.
- Perform ad hoc analyses as directed by the Financial Controller.
**Assistant Accountant
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A high level of numeracy is essential.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel to include VLOOKUP and SUMIfs.
- A Further Education qualification in Business, Finance, or a related subject.
- At least two years of post-education experience in an accounting area.
- A flexible attitude to work with the ability to adapt quickly and support colleagues in related work areas.
