Job Title: Management Accountant (6 Month FTC with possibility of going perm)

Location: Central London

Reporting to: Finance Manager

Department: Finance

  • *Hybrid Working - 2 Days per week in office**

Job Overview:

The Management Accountant will play a key role in the finance team, supporting the private equity firm's financial reporting, analysis, and management. The role is responsible for monthly reporting, analyzing business performance, and supporting the firm's investment operations. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior finance team, investment teams, and external consultants to ensure accurate and timely financial information is available to drive informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.
  • Develop financial reports for the firm's portfolio companies and internal stakeholders.
  • Analyze variances between actual results and budgets/forecasts, providing insightful commentary on performance.

Financial Control & Compliance

  • Maintain the accuracy of financial records in line with industry regulations and internal policies.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and other relevant statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to complete annual audits.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

  • Manage cash flow, ensuring liquidity to support operational and investment activities.
  • Monitor and report on cash positions and assist in capital allocation decisions.

Process Improvement

  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency in reporting and financial operations.
  • Assist in developing financial systems to support the firm's growing portfolio.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret and analyze complex financial data.
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • ACCA or CIMA (studier or qualified).
  • A working knowledge in management accounting.
  • Experience working with portfolio companies or within an investment management environment is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and systems.
