The Company

A position is available for a Legal Technologist to join a growing Innovation team. You will support the team with innovation projects and utilise legal technology to improve processes and services. This independent regional UK law firm is known for its highly effective solutions to clients' complex needs within selected markets which include the largest public and private sector organisations, alongside SMEs and high net worth individuals.

Key Responsibilities of the Legal Technologist

  • To work with the Innovation team supporting the delivery of innovative and process improvement projects, utilising legal technology tools and platforms.
  • Support and analyse internal and client requirements and to translate those into tools and solutions built on the internal toolkit.
  • Become a subject matter expert in key enabling technologies and to communicate technical capabilities and use-cases effectively within internal and external users.
  • Support the team in working with clients and legal teams to provide legal technology consultancy advice, and implement legal technology solutions.
  • Be involved in legal product and service development and improvement initiatives including supporting the production of any business cases required.
  • Promote and support the use of the existing legal tech and solutions to internal legal teams.
  • Support product and solution development, including scoping and testing new products, attending and reporting on product demonstrations and researching the market.

Skills & Attributes of the Legal Technologist

  • Ideally you will have experience working with legal technology such as document automation, machine learning and AI, no code platforms.
  • Experience of using legal tech solutions such as HighQ, Contract Express, Luminance, or DocuSign is highly desirable.
  • A background as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, Legal Analyst or other role in a law firm, with knowledge of how legal work is delivered would be beneficial.
  • You must have an interest in innovation and legal technology.
  • Demonstrate a manner and judgement which inspires confidence and the ability to converse in both a technical language and non-technical/user friendly way.
  • Demonstrate high proficiency in use of IT (particularly MS Office) and be capable of producing very high-quality work showing high attention to detail.
  • To demonstrate a flexible approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a close-knit team and develop positive working relationships with others.
  • Demonstrate an ability to be a motivated self-starter using initiative and look to promote excellence in client-facing service delivery skills.
