MLK Search is excited to present this exciting opportunity for a charismatic, engaging and creative Teaching Assistant to join their brand spanking new SEMH provision in Surrey supporting 11–19 year olds with SEMH and associated needs (ASD and ADHD). They are seeking to appoint a confident, dynamic, and inspirational person who can inspire students to achieve positive learning outcomes, regardless of the challenges they face.
Role Details
- Supporting teachers, engaging with students, providing learning support, and reacting to situations in a positive, non-disruptive manner.
- Working 1:1 or 2:1 with some students, to give them the time and support they need to learn.
- Assisting students in educational and social development.
- Providing support in and out of the classroom, so they can fully engage in all activities.
- Setting up activities for students, using technology and adjusting environments to suit.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
- GCSE equivalent to C/4 in Maths and English
- Level 2 Qualification and above would be highly desirable
- Successful experience within a similar setting supporting students with SEN
- Ability to build relationships with staff and students
- Understanding of EHCPs and the SEN Code of Practice highly desirable
