A manufacturer of safety-critical components sold into aerospace and defence industries is growing. Due to the increased workload, they are looking at streamlining their processes to maintain their high-quality standards without creating any bottlenecks. To bolster their Purchasing Team, they are now seeking a Senior Buyer.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will provide an effective and efficient Purchasing solution to the business, ensuring that the business has goods and services in place for it to satisfy the OTIF delivery of its products to their customers.
Responsibilities of the Senior Buyer include:
- Supporting the company's growth by enabling profit through effective sourcing
- Reducing supplier lead time whilst ensuring they maintain the high standards expected
- Monitoring suppliers through KPi's and reviews. Ensuring the business is getting full value from it's suppliers.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities within the supplier base
- Assist the commercial teams in bid management.
To be successful as a Senior Buyer you must have:
- Previous experience as a Category Buyer, Senior Buyer or Project Buyer within a manufacturing business.
- Proven negotiation skills and to have an in-depth understanding of commercial terms.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Purchased a range of materials, components, and parts.
- Worked with a range of MRP/ERP systems.
