Caretaker - Kings Lynn
Temporary Cover until November 2024
We are seeking an experienced Caretaker to join our team at a school in Kings Lynn, providing temporary cover until November 2024. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for maintaining the school's facilities and grounds, including carrying out basic electrical work, plumbing, painting, and carpentry tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing basic electrical work, such as replacing light bulbs, power outlets, and small repairs
- Carry out minor plumbing tasks, including unblocking drains, fixing leaks, and maintaining the water system
- Paint and decorate the school's interior and exterior as needed
- Undertake basic carpentry work, such as repairing doors, windows, and furniture
- Ensure the school grounds are well-maintained, including litter picking, light gardening, and snow/ice clearance
- Provide general maintenance services to support the smooth operation of the school
- Liaise with the Facilities Manager and respond promptly to any issues that arise
- Lone working, with regular check-ins and support from the Facilities Manager
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a caretaker or in a similar maintenance role
- Competent in basic electrical, plumbing, painting, and carpentry tasks
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- Flexible and adaptable to handling a variety of requests
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
- Enhanced DBS check required
