We are seeking a dedicated Contract Management Professional to join our team in Sheffield. This role is crucial for developing and implementing the Council's contract management strategy to ensure optimal value from our external service providers. Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee the management of a diverse portfolio of contracts across Operational Services, including general building trades, servicing, maintenance, and materials supply.
  • Line manage the Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist and the Energy Team, responsible for the Council's utility contracts and Building Energy Management system.
  • Act as the primary client in the contract procurement process, collaborating with Procurement and operational managers to draft and develop contractual documents such as specifications, pricing frameworks, and performance measures.
  • Ensure contracts align with business objectives and operational needs.
  • Maintain and implement an effective contract management framework to ensure service levels are met.
  • Attend in-person meetings in Sheffield as required, with an expectation to be office-based initially 4-5 days a week during the induction period, and 2-3 days per week thereafter.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Exceptional organisational skills and detail-oriented.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously within strict deadlines and governance frameworks.
  • Experience in contract management or a related field is highly desirable.
