* Demand Planner - Leicester Based - £40,000 + Package *
Futures have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Demand Planner on behalf of a leading, global, billion £ food manufacture who are well-known in the market for their great tasting products!
As a Demand Planner, you will play a crucial role in forecasting and managing inventory levels to meet customer demand efficiently. This position requires a keen understanding of market trends, data analysis skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities of a Demand Planner:
- Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts for all products, considering factors such as historical sales data, market trends, and seasonality.
- Utilise advanced forecasting techniques and demand planning software to generate accurate demand forecasts and identify potential demand fluctuations.
- Monitor inventory levels across multiple distribution centres and manufacturing facilities to ensure optimal stock levels while minimizing excess inventory and stockouts.
- Work closely with procurement and production teams to communicate forecasted demand and ensure timely procurement of raw materials and production scheduling.
- Conduct regular performance reviews of forecasting models and adjust parameters as needed to improve forecast accuracy.
- Analyse and track key performance metrics related to demand forecasting, inventory management, and supply chain efficiency.
- Proactively identify and address demand-related issues, such as shortages or surplus inventory, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement solutions.
Key Experience/Skills of a Demand Planner:
- A minimum of 2 years experience within a Demand Planner
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and forecasting techniques, with experience using forecasting software or tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Demand Solutions, etc.)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and make actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of S&OP processes and best practices is desirable.
- Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS CPIM) is a plus.
