MERITUS are recruiting for a experienced Source Inspector to support the quality assurance team of our client in Darwen.

SOURCE INSPECTOR - UP TO £13.50 PAYE- DARWEN - 12 MONTHS (EXTENDABLE) 4 DAY WEEK (MON-THURS) - 37 HOURS PER WEEK (OVERTIME PREMIUM RATE) - ONSITE ROLE - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW ONSITE

You will be responsible for performing in-depth inspections of composite and metal components to verify compliance with customer and industry specifications at supplier sites.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed inspections of aerospace components and assemblies at supplier locations to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Verify that all parts and assemblies meet required tolerances, finishes, and material specifications using precision measuring tools such as callipers, micrometres, and gauges.
  • Review and validate supplier documentation, including certificates of conformance, material certifications, and test reports.
  • Identify and document any non-conformance, and work with suppliers to resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and submit detailed inspection reports, including photographs, measurements, and non-conformance findings.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and procurement teams to address and prevent quality issues in supplier products.
  • Ensure that all inspections are conducted in accordance with AS9100, NADCAP, and other relevant aerospace quality standards.
  • Assist in supplier audits and evaluations as needed to ensure ongoing compliance with quality requirements.

Skillset/experience required:

  • Technical degree or certification in quality control, aerospace inspection, or a related field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in quality inspection
  • Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments and inspection tools.
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards, including AS9100, and NADCAP regulations.

Desirable

  • Certification in Quality Inspection (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Inspector) or equivalent training.
  • Experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) operation and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with quality documentation software and digital inspection reporting.
