Job Title: Registered Manager - Mid-Long Term Children's Homes
Salary: £55,783 - £59,010 (per annum)
Hours: Full-Time, 37 hours per week
Location: Oxfordshire County (Primary location based at the assigned Mid-Long-Term Children's Home)
Team: Residential and Edge of Care (REoC)
Service Area: County-wide

About the Role:

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people? Oxfordshire County Council is seeking an experienced and dynamic Registered Manager to lead one of our Mid-Long Term Children's Homes, supporting young people aged 12-17.

As a Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the home, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care that promotes the best outcomes for our young people. You will lead a dedicated team, working collaboratively with internal and external partners to provide integrated and individualised interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the management of a Children's Home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and the home's Statement of Purpose.
  • Lead and develop your team, ensuring high standards of emotional, social, and physical care.
  • Manage the home's budget and resources, ensuring cost-effective service delivery.
  • Work in partnership with multi-disciplinary teams to support the health, education, and well-being of young people.
  • Ensure that safeguarding risks are proactively managed and that all policies and procedures are adhered to.

Essential Criteria:

  • Level 5 Residential Leadership and Management qualification (or equivalent).
  • Extensive knowledge of childcare legislation, Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and Quality Assurance Standards.
  • Experience in managing residential children's homes at a managerial level.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience in staff management, training, and development.
  • Ability to manage budgets and make informed financial decisions.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Professional Social Work qualification.
  • Experience in managing complaints and responding to inspections.

Pre-employment Checks:

This role requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check with Children's and Adults Barred List.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent lone working and use of computers.
  • Managing challenging behaviours and providing face-to-face support.
  • Participation in the Managers On Call rota, with occasional sleep-in duties if required.
