Inventory Coordinator
- Annual Salary: up to £35,000 DOE
- Location: Stockport
- Job Type: Full-time office based
- Hours: 7.30am - 4.30pm
Reed Procurement & Supply Chain are currently working with a well established manufacturing business who are seeking an experienced Inventory Coordinator to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in purchasing, particularly from overseas suppliers, and a basic knowledge of shipping. This role is integral to maintaining our high standards of fabric sourcing and requires a proactive individual who can manage material flow effectively.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Establish and maintain initial stock holding figures for base and coated fabric stocks
- Review stock holding figures and communicate updates to the General Manager
- Monitor lead times from suppliers to ensure continuous fabric stock availability
- Work with suppliers and the sales team to minimise redundant stock levels
- Raise and expedite purchase orders in line with sales and stock demands
- Liaise with suppliers regarding rejected base fabric and ensure timely replacement
- Collaborate with the QC team to raise debits against non-conformance documentation
- Maintain a supplier database for sampling, trials, and bulk production communication
- Advise the production planning team on finished stockholding levels required
- Use trend analysis to identify sales cycles and alert colleagues and suppliers
- Support with purchasing, shipping, and exporting tasks as needed
- Occasional worldwide travel may be required
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in planning, purchasing, and managing material flow within an organisation
- Sourcing experience from Europe and the Far East
- Knowledge of fabrics and textiles
- Proficiency with modern inventory management systems and Microsoft AX
- Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Basic knowledge of shipping
- Excellent communication skills and a confident telephone manner
