Job Description:
This role is within the Propulsion Prototype Build Preparedness Team which is part of Powertrain Operations and Product Engineering. The team maintains productive workflow from the Prototype Battery Build Facility at Lyons Park and the Prototype EDU facility at Whitley. They support these teams by building prototype propulsion units and ensuring that they are built to the correct specification and configuration as detailed by customer teams to our client's modern luxury vehicles. Following successful EOLT they are dispatched safely and at the desired quality to enable unit and vehicle testing with the objective of achieving an on-time, safe, quality product release.
The team's function is to support Powertrain and Product Engineering in their objective of achieving 'timely and quality' product releases through supporting the overall Powertrain 'cycle plan'. In doing so the team, and all individuals within it, are required to be responsive to their customer needs and requirements.
This role supports the planning of the builds, understanding the technical challenges they may face and working in the upfront environment to solve these issues before moving into a build support role as the build commences in the facilities.
Skills Required:
- Technical Engineering understanding - Ideally Propulsion Units (Batteries, EDU's or Engines).
- Ability to accurately and concisely?present complex technical ideas or project issues.
- Clear and confident?communicator both orally and in writing.
- Previous strong Engineering Project experience.
- Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Full suite of Microsoft packages.
- CAD capable (particularly CAD viewing 3Dx).
- Experience of Electrification.
- Experience in JIRA.
- Experience of GPIRS.
- Manufacturing engineering exposure.
- Understanding of AGILE Project Management Principles.
