Children and Families Advanced Practitioner

We are seeking a dedicated Children and Families Advanced Practitioner to join our Safeguarding and Assessment teams across Gloucestershire. This role is crucial in supporting families and communities to ensure every child has the best chance of a happy and rewarding life, especially those who need more help.
About the Role
As a Children and Families Advanced Practitioner, you will:
- Be the allocated Advanced Social Work Practitioner for a protected caseload of up to 8 children and young people with complex needs, risks, and circumstances.
- Provide supervision and management oversight for the practice and development of Trainee Social Workers and Newly Qualified Social Workers within the team.
- Lead in promoting, supporting, and addressing quality control, assurance, and improvement activities across the service.
- Manage a protected caseload, undertaking direct work with children, young people, and their families to build resilience and deliver improved outcomes.
- Risk assess and review plans to ensure long-term safety and wellbeing for children and young people.
- Establish effective and collaborative relationships with team managers to maintain consistency in social work practice and performance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Qualified social worker registered with Social Work England.
- Experience at a Senior Social Worker level or higher.
- A recognised qualification in Social Work and completion of ASYE year (if qualified after 2012).
- A full driving licence and willingness to travel as needed.
- Enhanced DBS clearance.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage complex cases and mentor less experienced staff.
