Role: 2nd Line Network engineer
Salary:£37,000
Location: Harrow
We are working with a leading player in the education sector who due to sustained growth and large investment in their IT department are looking to ad a second line Network engineer to assist in supporting and upgrading their network infrastructure.
As a Network engineer you will be getting hands on with a variety of the latest tech including Cisco and Juniper devices and assisting in the roll out of all network projects.
The role:
- Managing, maintaining and replacing the core switches and routers
- Monitoring the network infrastructure
- Troubleshooting structured cabling issues, Cat5, Cat6 and fibre.
- Diagnosing network level faults. E.g. Traffic, QoS.
- Ensure that connectivity is available 24x7x365.
- Supporting the Firewall and web filtering.
- Provide switch software updates and security patch updates in a timely manner.
- Assist in project rollouts and patching
The tech:
- Experience managing switches using a GUI or CLI.
- CCNA/MCSE
- Network Switches and routers
- Wireless Access Points.
- Experience managing firewalls
- Experience with Web Filtering systems.
