Night Porter

- Salary: £12.20 per hour or £23,697 per annum
- Working hours: 6pm to 12am, Monday to Friday
Cambridge Business Support is working with one of Cambridge colleges. They are seeking a Night Porter to join their team, providing after-hours reception, security, and general support services. The ideal candidate will be well-organised, possess excellent people skills, and be proactive in managing after-hours occurrences. A friendly disposition and a "can do" attitude are essential.
Day to Day of the Role:
- Provide after-hours reception and front-of-house services, including accommodation and meeting room bookings.
- Greet and assist guests and visitors, manage bookings, and maintain visitor documentation.
- Conduct routine checks and patrols to ensure safety and security on campus.
- Monitor CCTV and respond to emergencies, acting as the initial point of contact for building evacuations.
- Administer first aid and act as a Fire Warden when necessary.
- Address immediate maintenance requirements and report major repair needs.
- Offer general assistance to college members and undertake additional tasks as requested.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy.
- Recent experience in a night security role is desirable.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Experience with College CRM systems (e.g., Kinetics or StarRez) is desirable.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to use initiative and solve problems effectively.
