Do you have deep knowledge of UK apprenticeship schemes and a passion for driving change within the healthcare sector NHS Professionals (NHSP) is expanding its offering by developing an apprenticeship programme that will help address critical skills shortages within the NHS. We're looking for an experienced, innovative, and entrepreneurial Apprenticeship Director to join our senior team and take the lead in shaping this new apprenticeship model.

Salary: c£80,000 per annum, plus package

Apprenticeship Director – The Role:

Recognising the workforce challenges facing the NHS, we are now launching a new apprenticeship programme to build and develop the skills of the future healthcare workforce. The next step for the NHSP Academy is to implement this apprenticeship programme, and we need an Apprenticeship Director to take charge.

Apprenticeship Director - Key Responsibilities:

  • Shape the Vision: Develop and implement a strategic vision for the NHSP Academy's apprenticeship programme, contributing directly to the NHS's future workforce needs.
  • Lead the Team: Build and lead a high-performing team dedicated to creating and delivering innovative apprenticeship opportunities across healthcare roles.
  • Develop Partnerships: Cultivate relationships with NHS Trusts and major international businesses to ensure the apprenticeship programme meets the diverse needs of the healthcare sector.
  • Strategic Growth: Create a comprehensive workforce strategy and business model to support the Academy's growth, ensuring the programme becomes an integral part of healthcare staffing solutions.
  • Drive Innovation: Oversee the ongoing development of the programme to ensure it remains responsive to the evolving healthcare landscape, while continually improving service delivery through new technology and practices.

Apprenticeship Director - You:

  • Commercial Expertise in Apprenticeships: Extensive knowledge and experience with UK apprenticeship schemes, particularly within healthcare or NHS environments.
  • Proven Business Developer: Demonstrated ability to build programmes from the ground up, with a track record of successful implementation and scale-up.
  • NHS/Healthcare Understanding: A deep understanding of NHS operations, values, and the challenges they face, along with a passion for supporting healthcare improvement.
  • Strategic Leader: Strong leadership and analytical skills, with the ability to create long-term visions and turn them into actionable plans.
  • Relationship Builder: Proven ability to work in partnership with key stakeholders and build strong, lasting relationships within the healthcare and business sectors.
