The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and creative Design and Technology Teacher with a focus on Product Design to join our team full-time ASAO or from January 2025. This permanent position provides an exciting opportunity to inspire students through innovative design projects and hands-on learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Design and Technology, with a strong emphasis on Product Design, aligned with the national curriculum.
- Foster students' creativity and technical skills through practical projects, encouraging them to explore materials, processes, and modern technologies.
- Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Design and Technology exams, offering guidance and support throughout their learning journey.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them grow and develop their design skills.
- Contribute to the development of the Design and Technology department, including curriculum resources and project ideas.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages innovation and collaboration.
- Engage in extracurricular activities related to Design and Technology, such as clubs or competitions, to further enrich student experiences.
About You:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in Design and Technology, Product Design, or a related field.
- Strong subject knowledge of Product Design and its practical applications in secondary education.
- Experience teaching Design and Technology at GCSE and A-Level is preferred.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- A passion for design, creativity, and a commitment to helping students achieve their potential.
- Willingness to contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular initiatives.
