Job Title: Project Assistant

Salary: £27,500 per annum

Job Type: Full-Time/6-Month Contract (potential to go perm!)

Location: Macclesfield, fully on-site

Hours: Either 08:00-17:00 or 08:15-17:15, Monday-Thursday. Friday is 08:00-13:00

Reed are proud to, again, be working with our longstanding engineering/manufacturing client in Macclesfield, supporting with their search for a Project Assistant. Due to continued growth within their projects team, our client is looking to expand the team.

Please don't be put off by the specific industry of this role – FULL training will be provided to update your existing skill set.

The Role:

In this role you will support the Project Management function in customer and project activities aimed at satisfying customer and business requirements for the supply our clients niche and industry renowned products.

Your Impact:

  • Support the Project Managers as required via liaison with internal departments and customer representatives to provide information and documentation as defined by the project scope.
  • Provide an efficient and effective interface with all departments and management teams
  • Compile, provide and maintain detailed project management information and reports to meet customer / internal objectives and milestones, such as; project plans, schedules, cost performance tracking and project status reports.
  • Attend regular project meetings and progress actions between meetings to ensure on time completion.
  • Record and maintain accurate records and files for all project work
  • Support Project Managers with information and slides for project-related presentations in support of customer or internal meetings
  • Contribute to the improvement of process through open discussions on lessons learned from good and bad project/product delivery experiences. This requires the ability to apply reason and persuasion in order to promote action and implement change.
  • To establish, maintain and use a meaningful product and contacts database
  • Support the organisation as appropriate in any marketing campaigns
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with customers, colleagues and the management team by regular consultation and feedback regarding activities, progress, results and achievements.

About You:

  • Some involvement of previous ‘projects' experience within a dedicated role
  • Experience within an engineering company would be advantageous
  • Skill sets including planning and scheduling, coupled with the ability to reason and negotiate
  • A degree of commercial awareness would be ideal
  • A project management qualification would be advantageous
  • If no working experience, a degree in a business-related degree would be advantageous
