What part will you play? Our Business Change Team is looking to expand and bring in an experienced Project Manager ahead of an exciting 2025! With excellent stakeholder management, you will take ownership of a number of projects from configuration through to completion. The aim of this role is to free up capacity and help guide the business through change. As a Project Manager in a uniquely set up team, it will be your responsibility to work closely with the business to understand the issue and work to agreed deadlines. The opportunity:

It's an exciting time to join as our business grows. We have just moved into a brand-new, innovative office in Leeds city centre right next to the train station, and we currently have a new opportunity for a Project Manager - Business Change to join our highly respected team on a hybrid basis (3 days in the office / 2 days from home).

The Project Manager role is a key component of the UK Business Change team which supports the delivery of strategic projects within the change portfolio, initiates and implements small changes, and process simplification and improvements. The role involves working with cross functional teams across the whole of the business and with third party system providers. We are looking for someone from a Business Change Project Management background who has Waterfall methodology and great partner management skills.

What you'll be doing:

  • Be the day to day contact on behalf of the assigned project/s
  • Planning and designing the project/s and proactively monitoring overall progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action
  • Work with the project's governance framework and follow the project delivery life cycle as applicable to the size of the project/s
  • Responsible for ensuring and supporting work stream delivery. Develop, refine and gain acceptance for the detailed project plan so that all collaborators are clear on deliverables, timescales, resources and constraints
  • Identifies and secures appropriate resources to work on the project/s and defines clear roles and responsibilities for all team members
  • Create and gain acceptance for a communications plan that enables thorough and timely communication with all collaborators and ensure adherence to it
  • Liaise with external suppliers where applicable. Manage third party contributions
  • Effective coordination of the work streams and their interdependencies
  • Managing and resolving any risks and issues
  • Ensuring architectural coherence within the project and programme
  • Ensure that the delivery of new products or services from the project/s meets project requirements and is to the appropriate quality, on time and within budget
  • Monitors and reports project/s status and progress appropriately to different partners and to agreed standards
  • Completes formal project reviews at appropriate points in the project life cycle, including the Project Implementation Review (PIR)
  • Deputise and represent line manager where required
  • Handle business expectations

Our must haves:

  • Knowledge and experience of project management methodologies - Prince 2 Practitioner, Agile
  • Demonstrable Project Management experience, handling 3rd party vendors and internal collaborators
  • Skilled in using MS Project/waterfall approach to create a full lifecycle project plan
  • Proven track record in driving delivery of complex projects particularly in the Financial services and Insurance sectors
  • Strong change management / business improvement record
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Experienced in workshop design and facilitation
  • Excellent presentation and communications skills
  • Rigorous in planning and execution
  • Budget management experience
