Academics LTD is collaborating with a well-respected SEN school in Thatcham that offers specialized support for children aged 5 to 18 with social, emotional, and mental health needs. The school is currently seeking a friendly and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.
Key Responsibilities for the SEN Teaching Assistant Role:
- Understand and address Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges
- Support children with diverse needs, including Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, behavioral challenges, sensory impairments, physical disabilities, and communication difficulties
- Assist students in developing social skills and emotional regulation
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in working with children or in the Special Educational Needs (SEN) sector
- Maintain a positive attitude and remain calm under pressure
This position is particularly suited for Psychology or Criminology graduates looking to gain experience in an educational setting. Whether your goal is to pursue a career in psychology or mental health, this role provides an excellent environment for skill development. While recognized qualifications such as a degree, Level 3 qualifications, or relevant experience with SEN children are advantageous, prior experience is not required.

- Schedule: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
