Supply Chain Specialist

The New Product Introduction team is responsible for the identification and management of the supply chain required to support new programs and technology projects at Collins Aerospace Wolverhampton. The successful candidate will be an energetic, proactive, analytical, and adaptable. You should be able to operate across functions units and disciplines to yield strong performance results for the organisation. The candidate will be empowered and accountable to drive the business forward, owning and resolving issues, driving improvements forward, whilst communicating progress to stakeholders.

Though NPI will be a key aspect of this position, as a skilled Supply Chain professional, with relevant Aerospace / Automotive / Manufacturing background with demonstrable project based work skills you would fit well into the team.

Summary:

  • Start date: ASAP
  • Duration: 12 months with potential to be made permanent
  • Location: Wolverhampton
  • Pay Rate: £25 - £30.00 per hour
  • Hours: 37 per week - hybrid 3 days onsite

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Supply Chain function and be the point of contact for Actuation Systems Programme Teams, actively participating in Integrated Project Teams.
  • Project manage the deliverables from a portfolio of suppliers, ensuring hardware delivery for new programmes and technology opportunities.
  • Take full accountability for problem resolution, escalating and driving solutions as necessary.
  • Engage in request for quotation, negotiation, and purchase order awards.
  • Foster strong relationships with suppliers for NPI programmes and ensure their performance meets expectations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure programme hardware is delivered on time.
  • Negotiate optimal prices for low-volume parts from both local and global suppliers.
  • Support the engineering team in designing for manufacture.
  • Implement improvement initiatives related to supplier performance and cost management.
  • Regularly report key metrics and present supplier status updates to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in strategy, supply chain, engineering, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in business/economics, supply chain, or engineering beneficial.
  • CIPS qualification beneficial.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong technical, commercial, and intellectual capabilities, with the ability to interface effectively with various disciplines.
  • Proactive, accountable, and driven to develop solutions that move the business forward.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to multi-task.
  • Experience in project teams or leading projects is desirable.
  • Ability to analyse data and trends to proactively manage suppliers.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
