Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday
Contract: Full-time, term-time only

We are looking for a dedicated Special Needs Support Worker to join our team in Henfield. In this role, you will work closely with children who have a range of complex needs, including autism, ADHD, sensory processing challenges, and behavioral difficulties.
Key Responsibilities for a Special Needs Support Worker:
- As a Special Needs Support Worker, you will provide tailored support to children who may display challenging behaviors, including physical outbursts, ensuring they feel safe, understood, and supported.
- Assist children with specialised physical and medical needs, which may include tube feeding, while maintaining the highest level of care and sensitivity in all interactions.
- Implement proactive strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors, creating a safe and positive environment for all children in the classroom.
- Support children in developing social, emotional, and academic skills in line with their individualised education plans (IEPs).
- Monitor and actively support the safety of children, particularly those with a tendency to run away. As a Special Needs Support Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring each child's safety and well-being.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and other specialists to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment, fulfilling your role as a Special Needs Support Worker.
Ideal Candidate for Special Needs Support Worker:
- Experience: Prior experience working with children with special needs is essential, particularly those with autism, ADHD, or behavioral challenges.
- Skills: Patient, adaptable, and calm, with strong communication and de-escalation abilities.
- Training: Knowledge of positive behavior management, safeguarding, or SEN support is a plus.
- Physical and Emotional Resilience: Able to remain calm and focused under pressure, and responsive to each child's unique needs.
