Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a single-form entry primary school in Runcorn as they are looking to recruit a motivated and reliable teaching assistant for a full-time long-term contract. This is an ongoing position supporting a young boy in year 1 with SEN.
Your new role
In your new role within this school you will be supporting a lovely male student in year 1, acting as the students' main point of contact throughout the school day. This student has had an extremely traumatic upbringing, so a trauma-informed approach is vitally important. Unfortunately, due to this upbringing, they now suffer with SEMH, struggle with speech and language and are now going through the adoption process. You will support them on a 1:1 basis, encouraging them to part-take in learning material, holding speech and language sessions using positive behaviour promotion.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as referenceable experience supporting people with SEN, as well as:
- Experience working with mental health/trauma/SEMH
- Experience with speech and language
- Be able to commit to a full-time contract
