Shift Plant Technician

We are seeking a diligent and reliable Shift Plant Technician who will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of industrial manufacturing equipment at our Birmingham site.

Description

  • Carry out regular plant walk rounds to determine plant running conditions
  • Complete all scheduled walking tour preventative maintenance schedules - PPM's
  • Make changes to plant apparatus where required or instructed to support and maintain plant availability
  • Collect samples from plant processes including fuel delivery effluent storage
  • Inform the Technical administrator of all sample results or in their absence Operations Manager/Plant Manager
  • Carry out first line maintenance tasks where directed by the Shift Team Leader
  • Shift cover in the event of sickness or training
  • React promptly to changes in plant running conditions and carry out any changes as directed by the Shift team Leader/plant operator
  • All other duties which reasonably fall within the capability of the Shift Plant Operator where directed or requested by the Shift Team Leader, Operations Manager or Plant Manager
  • Work as part of a 365 day, 24/7, shift rota

Profile

A successful Shift Plant Technician should have:

  • A strong understanding of safety regulations in the industrial / manufacturing sector.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently.
  • Optimization of plant performance as directed by the plant operator/STL
  • Accurate record keeping on plant tours PPM's and plant running conditions.
  • Ensure all sampling results are communicated to the SPO.
  • Communicate any incidents to the on shift STL/ plant management as per the Cobalt Energy policies
  • Monitoring and implementing company H&S and environmental policy
  • Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained at all time
