SALARY: £22,004 pro rata

LOCATION: Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire (MK2)

JOB TYPE: Bank Position - As and when needed

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Community Mental Health Support Worker who is compassionate, supportive with strong communication skills.

This role of the Community Mental Health Support Worker has been developed specifically for people who have experience of mental distress and are able to use their experience to offer empathy and understanding to others, inspiring hope and recovery with others.

Working as the Community Mental Health Support Worker you will deliver goal-focussed, person-centred support to service users based on co-produced and sustainable recovery plans and this is delivered flexibly including evening or weekends if a service user requires this due to work or education commitments.

As the Community Mental Health Support Worker, you will work with the team to offer pathways for those using the skill set of lived experience to support individuals accessing the service. The successful candidate will be required to travel across Milton Keynes areas to deliver the service.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

As the Community Mental Health Support Worker you will:

  • Have transferable life/work experience to apply to this role
  • Be a good listener, empathetic, understanding, kind, patient and willing to learn
  • Be able to demonstrate behaviours consistent with the values of the Charity
  • Have, experience of providing support to people with a mental illness; or experience of providing care and/or support services within another social care setting in either a paid or voluntary capacity (desirable)
