Head of Land - Onshore Renewables

Glasgow office with hybrid working in place

Salary range dependent on experience level: £70,000 - £90,000

Piper Maddox are currently working with one of the most exciting developers in the European Renewables market at the moment. With growth across the board, some of the most experienced heads in the business, and a growing project portfolio, it is a great time for the team!

Our client has been established in the market for over a decade, and in this time, they have built a reputation for doing things the "right way". They have in-house functions across Development/Planning, Design/Grid Engineering, Project Management/Construction, as well as finance/legal. Having all of these capabilities handled internally has created a clear line of communication throughout the business which really promotes a collaborative environment.

With all the uncertainty around legislation and grid connections in the market at the moment, stability is at the forefront of a lot of the sector's minds. This company has a very close relationship with their investment partners and with a pipeline reaching over 6GW, their team can focus on the project work rather than the external factors!

Your role in the team would be heading up the Land side of the business. They are looking for someone to come onboard from a senior land role in renewables to lead the team with a blend of mentoring junior team members and management of land matters for solar, wind, and BESS projects.

Some key aspects of the role are:

  • Existing projects - managing landowner relationships and liaising with the wider

team on land matters.

  • New projects - identifying and sourcing suitable land and understanding the various

constraints between different technologies.

  • Commercial negotiations for land acquisition - heads of terms, option lease

agreements, servitudes etc.

  • Team management - growth of the team at various levels including junior team members

and experienced land managers.

This would be a fantastic role for someone in a senior land management position who is looking to add more leadership elements to their position. Having just brought on someone to head up their NSIP division, this role would also give you the opportunity to work on NSIPs/DCO applications for renewable energy.

If you are looking for a new challenge in the sector within one of the most stably backed players in the market - apply today!
