Financial Controller

If you are a qualified and experienced Finance or Accounting professional with industry experience and you are looking to take the next step in your career with an established and growing company, we're delighted to share a newly created opportunity to join the Sword team in the role of Financial Controller.

_Here's what your new role will look like: _

Reporting in to the CFO, this is a great opportunity to lead the finance function of a rapidly growing business, supporting both Finance and Operational Management teams on a day-to-day basis.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Overview of submission of monthly Management Accounts to Sword Group international head office.
  • Control of Month end journal posting including WIP, prepayments, accruals, holiday provisions etc.
  • Control of Management Accounts and Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
  • Control of Production of monthly Management analytic reports.
  • Control of Intercompany balance reconciliation and repayment.
  • Submission of legal entity VAT return
  • Control of submission of month end statutory accounts onto Head Office consolidation software.
  • Management of half-year review and year end statutory audits.
  • Preparation of annual budgets with input from the Business Unit Directors.
  • Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Supervise, manage and mentor a financial team of 6.
  • Reviewing and approving monthly payments.

Requirements

Qualifications :

  • Academic degree in Economics, Finance or equivalent with relevant industry experience.
  • Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

Personal Competencies:

  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.
  • Solid IT skills, experience with Sage and advanced user of Microsoft Excel.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience of leading finance team in a business to business services environment would be beneficial.
