Reed Talent Solutions are currently working with a South Yorkshire based Local Authority to recruit a Finance Manager on an initial five-month contract. The post-holder will support the Executive Director of Corporate Services and Head of Finance & Performance in effective Financial Management of the Council.
Role Information
- 5 month contract with potential to extend
- Location: Barnsley/Hybrid
- £28.50 per hour (£56,000 salary equivalent)
- £274 per day LTD contract rate (INSIDE IR35)
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head of Finance & Performance with professional financial advice to officers, Board members and other staff applying advanced specialist knowledge of housing finance, company financial requirements or commercial management accounting as required
- Be responsible for the provision of financial services including budget preparation, closing of accounts, preparation of statutory accounts and annual financial statements.
- Contribute to the strategic management of Berneslai Homes as part of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and Leadership Forum, and attend these meetings
- Maintain statutory and corporate standards as a key element within the Company's internal controls assurance framework
- Provide financial information and reports to the Head of Finance & Performance, Executive Management Team (EMT), SMT, the Board and the Council
- Manage and oversee HRA allocated budgets managed by Property Services to deliver the PRIP Contract alongside overseeing Construction Services financials
- Effectively deliver Value for Money and ensure continuous improvement throughout the service area
Essential Criteria
- CCAB qualified
- Strong experience in a financial services environment
- Proven experience of being inspirational leader that leads by example to create a positive working environment that instils confidence and earns respect of staff and colleagues alike
