Development Laboratory Technician

Zotefoams plc is a world leader in cellular material technology with manufacturing facilities in Croydon, UK and Kentucky, USA. We produce lightweight foams for various markets including sports and leisure, automotive, healthcare, and more. Zotefoams also owns and licenses patented technology and sells advanced insulation systems.

Zotefoams are looking to add to their technical team as the business continues to grow. We want people who are passionate about material science and eager to contribute to innovative product development.

This role will allow you to contribute and push the frontiers of the foam industry as a Development Laboratory Technician. You will play a key role in advancing new materials from the lab through to production. In this role you will be presented with numerous training and development opportunities to enhance your skills in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Perform trials, tests, and investigations to support the development/introduction of new products and processes.
  • Generate reports of these trials, tests, and investigations.
  • Comply with and promote safe and environmentally responsible working practices. This will include ensuring COSHH and risk assessments are conducted for new substances, equipment and processes.
  • Participate in meetings, providing valuable insights and knowledge into your areas of work.

Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Passing grade in GCSE or A-level Maths & English.
  • Desirably a degree or vocational qualification in Materials or Engineering.
  • Knowledge of how to conduct COSHH and risk assessments with HS&E advisors.
  • Preferably experience in materials testing, particularly polymer materials.
  • Knowledge of operating laboratory and production equipment.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical, reporting and presentation skills.
  • Commercial awareness with a creative, practical approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Flexible and able to prioritise tasks effectively.
