AV Hardware Technician required to join a leading audio-visual services company to be based on-site in Sheffield. This is a rapidly growing business that offers a great customer service approach.

In your role as AV Technician, you will support and report to AV Product Manager in setting up, operating and troubleshooting equipment for live events.

Working simultaneously with engineering teams, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Identify and select primary, secondary, and alternative options for key AV equipment used in customer installations (microphones, amplifiers, speakers, display screens, Media players, encoders, touch controllers, digital audio processors, HDMI matrix).
  • Set up and maintain testing of AV new hardware and equipment.
  • Provide 3rd line technical support for hardware problems, performing root cause analysis.
  • Create and manage a project plan in collaboration with cross-functional team.
  • Keep detailed records of work completed and regularly update relevant teams.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Desktop, Engineering teams to improve existing hardware and design new solutions.
  • Lead meetings, present findings, and oversee the hardware continuity program.
  • Occasionally visit customer sites or suppliers to support testing and development.
  • Develop instruction manuals and contribute to sales materials.

To be considered you must have the following:

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience as a Digital AV Technician, Audio Visual Maintenance Technician, AV Installer at live events such funerals, weddings, ceremonies.
  • Good technical understanding of AV Systems deployed to customer site such as Media Player, encoder, touch controllers, HDMI matrix, UPS
  • Proficiency with IT tools, with ability to maintain documents in Word, Excel, and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset
  • Team player and an excellent communicator
  • Hands-on approach and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work 5 days a week in Sheffield.
