Job Title: Finance Manager

Salary: Up to £55k

Reports to: CFO

Location: West London, Office Based.

Summary

We are representing a Private Equity-backed Property Management business in an exciting period of growth. This newly created role offers the chance to take ownership of the Finance function, reporting directly to the CFO. The primary focus will be to establish a solid foundation within Finance to support M&A activities later in the year.

The role includes several system and process improvement projects, providing an excellent learning experience for an ambitious Finance Manager. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys designing and implementing rigorous processes, producing highly accurate and insightful reports, and possesses commercial acumen and interest.

The ideal candidate will hold an ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification and possess experience in a comparable role within the real estate sector, ideally within a smaller/medium size business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage the remote outsourced Finance team and oversee future Finance hires.
  • Review all outputs of the Finance team, taking ownership of all aspects of the Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss.
  • Optimise efficiency and identify cost savings through process improvements in both Financial and Operational areas, with a strong emphasis on automation and the use of systems/tools to reduce manual and transactional work.
  • Track cash flow weekly and develop strategies to optimize it for growth.
  • Design and implement ongoing tracking of Financial and Operational KPIs for reporting to the Executive team.
  • Oversee the end-to-end month-end process, including drafting all Board materials and commentary.
  • Conduct ongoing rolling forecasting, formal forecasting/budgeting, and three-year planning.
  • Manage relationships with banks, investors, suppliers, contractors, and overseas outsourced partners.
  • Collaborate closely with the Council Operations Manager to create and implement a broader Council strategy to drive revenue growth and retention.
  • Engage with landlords (clients) and tenants in escalated incidents and for relationship building, stepping in to resolve issues when necessary.
  • Act as a Business Partner across departments to aid in decision-making, working closely with the Executive team on various commercial and operational projects.
  • Oversee all aspects of payroll and maintain strong oversight of HR activities.
  • Work closely with the in-house Paralegal and external lawyer to manage ongoing litigation to resolution.
  • Track industry trends, macro/microeconomic factors, and conduct competitor analysis.
  • Lead the comprehensive ERP transition from the existing Sage platform to a CRM-integrated alternative and implement additional reporting tools in the medium term.

Experience & Skills:

  • Fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • Highly organised individual with the ability to prioritise and delegate numerous daily tasks and projects.
  • Strong communication skills, especially when working with a junior overseas team and colleagues outside of Finance.
  • External/Internal audit experience (desirable)
  • Property experience (desirable)
  • Exceptional Excel and ERP systems experience
  • Strong cashflow management experience
