Purchasing Manager

Our client, a leading world-class aerospace material supplier, specializing in a comprehensive range of chemicals, paints, adhesives, sealants, composites, and consumables tailored for the aviation Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) sector, are looking to recruit a Purchasing Manager based at their offices in London.

On Offer:

  • An attractive salary from £40,000 - £50,000, dependent on skills and experience.
  • Monday to Friday working pattern, 8:30am - 5:00pm
  • Annual leave increases to 25 days after successfully completing probation.

Main Purpose of the Role:

Reporting to the Sales Director, the Purchasing Manager will be responsible for setting up a B2B desk, managing the sales and sourcing of non-stock SKU's to facilitate a sourcing led service and multiply revenue. Growing stranger B2B products to high runners through continuous engagement with customers and technical conversations.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Purchasing Manager:

  • Facilitate the addition of 3000-5000+ parts to the ERP and e-commerce website
  • Taking responsibility for the quoting and sale of B2B products along with the purchasing and onboarding of these products.
  • Spearheading the sourcing activities for B2B's along with vendor negotiations for the best rates possible.
  • Management of daily tactical and strategic work to ensure timely responses to customers.
  • Setting up a robust service mechanism.
  • Liaising with different teams including, sales, procurement, and quality.
  • Technical sales through continuous customer engagement to facilitate product to product conversions. (alternates from current inventory)

To Be Considered:

  • Advanced knowledge of products and chemicals used in the aviation industry.
  • Experience within a purchasing / procurement / buying role
  • Data analytical skills.
  • Effective communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a highly dynamic and changing work environment.
  • Self-motivated and confident.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills and offering out of the box solutions.
  • Advanced planning and project management skills required.
