Commercial/Operations Manager - Sales Support, Purchasing, Warehouse

My client is a successful, growing group of companies involved in the distribution and supply of electronic components and services to manufacturing companies across the UK. As part of exciting new developments at their NEW site in North Yorkshire, they have created this NEW role for an experienced, or aspiring, manager to head up their Operations and Commercial Teams responsible for Purchasing, Sales Support and Warehouse, working closely with colleagues from across the business.

Reporting to the MD, responsibilities for the Operations / Commercial Manager include:-

  • To lead and manage the teams (c 12 people total) - setting Goals and Objectives for them and the business
  • Ensuring maximum use of and benefit from the ERP system, and other initiatives/projects to deliver value and improvements
  • To manage stock profiles via purchasing and reporting to support both financial and sales targets.
  • To work closely with colleagues from around the business; finance, sales, quality, product managers.
  • To forecast demand, stock and resource requirements.
  • To drive and support team development
  • Change leadership and management

To be successful in the Operations / Commercial Manager role, you should have a blend of the following skills and experience:-

  • Management and leadership experience and results
  • Commercial knowledge of purchasing, warehouse and sales support functions
  • Leading and implementing change and improvements
  • Excellent communicator
  • Structured approach to team and people development and growth
