Group Financial Accountant

Through acquisition, our client name was established in 2021 with the objective of creating a leading, advice led wealth management business throughout the UK.

The brand has structured itself into two business segments. The first, focuses on regulated financial advice and the second, on investment management services.

The companies acquisitional story is already well advanced and on a national scale set to continue for years to come.

Due to continued headcount across the group and its wider infrastructure, our client now seeks to recruit within their Group Finance Department for a Group Financial Accountant.

This team is responsible for the management and financial accounting for all its entities, covering the following core areas:

  • Management Reporting (single entity & consolidation)
  • Financial Reporting
  • External audit
  • Cashflow and Treasury
  • VAT
  • Regulatory Reporting
  • Accountants Payable
  • Payroll
  • Income Reconciliation
  • Transfer Pricing
  • Intercompany Recharges
  • Budgets and forecasting

This new role will include responsibility for the following:

  • Integration and aligning process across newly acquired business
  • Streamlining group structure
  • Closing smaller entities to reduce the number of entities within the group.
  • Production of Month End and Statutory accounts & assist with audit
  • Representing finance and working with the integration team
  • Preparing sole entity and consolidated month end management accounts
  • Develop the management reporting packs
  • Preparing sole entity financial and consolidated financial accounts and liaising with the external auditors and corporation tax team
  • Enhancing and Improving Processes and Policy
  • Assist the Accounts Payable team to implement software changes to enhance efficiencies
  • Partner the individual businesses providing information on performance and cost analysis

While the production of month end and statutory accounts elements will be core, other ad-hoc projects will arise which will provide variance, challenge and further learning opportunities.

The finance team all work remotely but have a collaborative, open and trusting working relationship. Support is provided and shared workloads encouraged.

Technology

  • Maintain a high level of computer literacy, be competent in using advanced Excel spreadsheets, Word, mail-merge, and other applications.
  • Experience using Xero accounting software.
