MacKenzie King are excited to be recruiting a Company Accountant to carry out a 12 month maternity cover contract for a sustainably growing business based in Colchester. As the Company Accountant you will be responsible for the integrity of the finance function, supported by a part time Credit Controller. You will need to be a self-sufficient and resourceful individual with strong communication skills to carry out this role successfully.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Production of management accounts
- Fixed assets, accruals/prepayments, maintenance of control accounts
- Reconciliation of GBP and Euro bank accounts
- Company credit card statement processing
- Supplier payment run & ad hoc payments
- Reconciliation of customer card payments received
- Maintenance of customer/supplier accounts
- Bad Debt Provisions
- Gross profit reconciliation against tech turnover and payments
- Posting of company payroll journals and bank payments
- Pensions and PAYE
- VAT Returns
- Quarterly stat turnover reports
- EIRE Vat returns
- Prep work for annual external accountants to produce stat accounts/returns
Skills & Attributes:
- Minimum AAT Qualified would be a preference and qualified by experience will be considered
- Great attention to detail, quality and accuracy
- Experience on Sage or Xero would be advantageous
- Systems migration experience would be advantageous
- Strong IT skills to include Excel (pivot tables & VLOOKUP)
