Senior Project Manager Overview:
Are you a seasoned Project Manager with a strong attention to detail and a passion for leading complex projects in fast-paced industries? We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our team and oversee critical contracts, ensuring smooth and efficient project execution. Reporting to the Sales Support Manager, this role is based in Milton Keynes and benefits from an agile working policy as determined by management and task requirements.
Senior Project Manager Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Lead and manage existing contracts, collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Align pre-contract and post-contract commercial and technical requirements with customers and internal teams, including the legal department.
- Participate in weekly project calls, tracking and monitoring action items.
- Provide project management support for security, quality, audit, and IT-related activities in coordination with the UK Legal Representative.
- Assist in maintaining the business unit's security certification in collaboration with the UK Legal Representative.
- Monitor client KPIs and support necessary follow-up actions.
- Manage and support pre-qualification, bid processes, new orders, and contract extensions.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of sales processes from opportunity creation to closure.
- Serve as a technical liaison with the factory as required.
- Support the division in complex tender processes.
- Oversee project handovers between Sales and Project Execution/Service teams.
Technical Sales Support:
- Review commercial and technical documentation.
- Act as a primary contact for the factory, ensuring clear communication with all stakeholders throughout the project delivery.
- Ensure timely and accurate management of paperwork.
- Process orders on SAP, issue customer order confirmations, and manage invoices.
- Handle supplier purchase orders and invoices.
- Track and report actual project costs against the budget.
- Provide general administrative support for projects, adhering to strict procedures and guidelines.
- Engage with customers through face-to-face meetings or phone calls.
- Assist Finance with project-related information as needed.
- Liaise with the Sales Support Manager and Legal Team on commercial and contractual matters.
- Support additional projects within the department as required.
Senior Project Manager Experience & Qualifications
- Project Management Certification: Such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2
- Proven experience managing complex projects and supporting Sales and Project Execution Services teams.
- Industry experience in Defence is essential.
- On-site and field-based project management experience.
- Financial and technical acumen
- BPSS security clearance is required.
